The sun


The sun rises and the sun sets. There is night and there is day. This fact is real, true, reliable, and consistent forever. If you really think about it, you realize this fact is only true from Earth. The real truth is that the sun does not rise or set. It is always shining bright.

There is a truth that The Spirit taught me, which we too often forget and fail to see, due to our limited mortal perspective. People go through something hard, something they think is unfair or shouldn’t happen, and they blame God. They think His love has left for a season. They think the sun has set. They think it’s night. They say things like the following: How could a loving God let so many “bad” things happen?? If God was perfect, He’d answer my prayer and save me. I’ve seen Him do it for others. If He doesn’t, He must not really love me. 


If we could take a very large step back and see things the way they truly are, we would clearly see that just as the sun never stops shining, God’s love never ceases. It is our limited perspective that makes it seem hidden, like the Earth turning away into night. God’s love is the sun. It doesn’t rise or set. He doesn’t ever leave us alone. There may be times when you fail to feel His love, or doubt that it is there, but I testify that it is ALWAYS there. Heavenly Father’s love is the sun. Real. True. Reliable. Consistent. Forever.


Roman’s 8:38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,


39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

I want to share an experience that completely changed the way I think about this life. The dive

We have been planning a fun family vacation for months. A  time to all be together. Marrieds are out of school, Phoebe is home from her mission, college kids are getting ready to go do sales for the summer, Hyrum leaves soon on his mission and Porter and Sawyer are happy for a break from school. Off to St. George we went. Bikes, gear for hiking Subway, golf clubs, tennis rackets, frisbee golf discs and swimsuits all packed. Woke up on our first morning, Monday, April 26th and it was raining. What a bummer. But who cares, we can still hot tub. Everyone got in the hot tub but me (mom). Mostly because there really wasn’t any room. And maybe also because I don’t love hot tubs. I’m pretty sure by the time they got out, the hot tub was only half full from all the water that went over the edge. Oops! Sorry everyone! It has been forever since we posted on here. My mom always wanted me to write these blog posts. So I guess she is finally getting what she wanted. I love being a missionary. I was set apart as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Wednesday, November 15, 2023. At my setting apart, the stake president asked me to call on someone to say a prayer to invite the spirit. I asked my sister Emma to say it because I knew she would do a good job of inviting the spirit. As she was praying, she started to cry. I started to cry, and I wouldn’t be surprised if everyone else in the room did the same. The spirit was so strong. The priesthood blessing I received was extremely powerful. I was promised so many amazing blessings. I was told that nothing was broken or altered in my accident. Father’s plan for me did not change. I was told that I lack for NOTHING.
