Conference

I loved general conference this year. I had some questions that I found answers to. Most within the first couple of talks actually. It was the first year I had ever come prepared with prayerful thoughts and questions. It really makes a difference. It felt like some of the talks were written for me. About me. Given straight to me. If you’ve never really done that, you need to. 

I am so grateful that we have living prophets and apostles. They are called of God and speak His words. There was a specific focus on prayer and the temple this year. I love going to the temple. We are so lucky to have one so close. 


“Nothing will help you more to hold fast to the iron rod than worshipping in the temple as regularly as your circumstances permit. Nothing will protect you more as you encounter the world’s mists of darkness. Nothing will bolster your testimony of the Lord Jesus Christ and His atonement or help you understand Gods magnificent plan more. Nothing will soothe your spirit more during times of pain. Nothing will open the heavens more. Nothing.” President Nelson

Porter Graduated from High School

Porter graduated from High School. This day seemed so far away, and now it came and went. Porter has had quite the high school experience. He hasn't had a single full year of school. Freshman year covid hit in March and they went virtual. Sophomore year he had his accident and didn't complete that year. Junior year was online while we lived in Utah and did therapy. Senior year the school caught on fire and burned a large portion of it and they went virtual again with 2 days at another High School. CRAZY! It's amazing to watch how resilient he has been and willing to make whatever situation he's in work. I'm so proud of him. He had to take 4 online courses, that were not easy, to make up for his Junior year while he was taking his classes for his Senior year. He graduated with Highest Honors. He's  so smart. Sorry everyone! It has been forever since we posted on here. My mom always wanted me to write these blog posts. So I guess she is finally getting what she wanted. I love being a missionary. I was set apart as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Wednesday, November 15, 2023. At my setting apart, the stake president asked me to call on someone to say a prayer to invite the spirit. I asked my sister Emma to say it because I knew she would do a good job of inviting the spirit. As she was praying, she started to cry. I started to cry, and I wouldn’t be surprised if everyone else in the room did the same. The spirit was so strong. The priesthood blessing I received was extremely powerful. I was promised so many amazing blessings. I was told that nothing was broken or altered in my accident. Father’s plan for me did not change. I was told that I lack for NOTHING. The dive

We have been planning a fun family vacation for months. A  time to all be together. Marrieds are out of school, Phoebe is home from her mission, college kids are getting ready to go do sales for the summer, Hyrum leaves soon on his mission and Porter and Sawyer are happy for a break from school. Off to St. George we went. Bikes, gear for hiking Subway, golf clubs, tennis rackets, frisbee golf discs and swimsuits all packed. Woke up on our first morning, Monday, April 26th and it was raining. What a bummer. But who cares, we can still hot tub. Everyone got in the hot tub but me (mom). Mostly because there really wasn’t any room. And maybe also because I don’t love hot tubs. I’m pretty sure by the time they got out, the hot tub was only half full from all the water that went over the edge. Oops! Sorry!   Then they all decided to head over to the pool and yes, it’s still raining. And we had to walk across razor sharp rocks to get there because we’re lazy and don’t want to walk all the way
